Every once in a while, I will talk about underrated golf courses, or courses that are not widely known to the public. These are what I consider the hidden gems in golf. They may not have the media attention that they deserve but hey, that’s a good thing because it makes the course that much more easily accessible for everyone!

なぜテキサスレンジャーズ GC?
First of all, it’s the world’s ONLY Major League Baseball (MLB)-themed golf course. That’s shocking to me because you’d think with how many baseball players out there who love golf that there would be more baseball-themed courses. It’s not just any baseball team though, the course proudly highlights the history of the Texas Rangers.

コース上のホームベース
This is something that more people need to bring up in conversation because I find it so cool. On most holes, there are fairway markers in the shape of a home plate…because they were actual home plates used in the Texas Rangers games!
If my boyfriend never told me about the plates, I would have no idea and that’s why I’m telling you this now. Don’t forget to take those pictures!
テキサスレンジャーズの歴史の豆知識
On several of the holes next to the tee ground, there are plaques with “fun facts” about the baseball team. I definitely learned several things about the team that day.
トーナメントレベルのコース
In April, the course has hosted the Korn Ferry Tour (PGA’s developmental tour) event called the Veritex Bank Championship. If the course can host a men’s professional golf tournament, then you know it must be good. Texas Rangers GC stretches to 7,010 yards which is great for those long hitters.

コースの特徴
I wouldn’t say the course is super challenging. The fairways for the most part are wide with lots of bunkers. The greens are large and undulated. I think golfers from every level will enjoy playing here.
It’s normally less than $100 to play during the week and they have a Frequent Player Program for those who want to play a lot. They do have a pro golfer rate and a junior golfer rate which is awesome.

コースから 10 分もかからない距離に、AT&T スタジアム、グローブライフフィールド、そしてかつての場所であるチョクトースタジアムがあります。
If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend going to see a game or go on a tour inside the stadiums.
テキサスライブというバーやレストランがたくさんある場所もあります。
Even if you don’t have time to go to a game or tour, it’s fun to just walk around and see the three stadiums from the outside.

結論
If you want to go to a course that makes you think, “Texas”, then I think this course is for you. It’s a tournament-level course with a great facility and cool history. Not to mention, there are many fun places to stop at after the round.
